Crochet Rose Pattern and Tutorial

I just love crocheting flowers for my various projects, particularly crocheted roses. There are many patterns freely available but one of the best is this tutorial by Heidi Bears, which is really easy to follow.

This rose is great to use as an embellishment on hats or headbands (or any other knitted or crocheted item). You could easily adjust the size of the rose - just change the type of yarn and use the appropriate sized hook - and adjusting the length of the chain to suit your needs.

How to Crochet a Magic Ring

When you want to crochet amigurumi patterns, granny squares or just working in rounds, the best way to start off is by using a Magic Ring. This ensures that you do not have a hole in the centre of your work. The magic ring sometimes seems tricky but once you master it, you will never go back to the old method, of starting with a chain, joined with a slip stitch.

wikiHow has a very good tutorial "4 Ways to Crochet a Magic Ring", with clear pictures to help you on your way. Click HERE to see it.

Eggheads with Cress Hair by Nurture Store

It is nearly Easter and if you are looking for a novel egg decorating idea for the children - here is a fabulous project I found on the Nurture Store Blog - full instructions HERE

Don't forget that you will need to get them started four or five days before Easter to ensure they have grown a full head of hair on Easter morning.
